The Audi A5 Sportback is a premium sedan that comes in two trims: the 40 and 45 models. The A5 Sportback has a turbocharged inline-four engine with an all-wheel drive. It’s a great car with many features, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which are standard in this vehicle. The Bronco is also a great car with many features, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which are standard in this automobile. Both cars offer good acceleration and cabin quality but the steering feedback could be better in the Bronco.
When you’re looking to buy a new car, one of the first things you’ll consider is the color. Luckily, Audi offers a wide range of colors for their A5 model so that you can find the perfect one for your personality and style. There are ten different colors available in total, and each has its own unique name and price tag.
The most expensive color option is “District Green Metallic.” If you want this flashy hue on your car, be prepared to pay $595 extra. The cheapest color selection is “Brilliant Black,” which will only set you back an additional $995.
Keep in mind that these are just the base prices; if you want any of the optional colors, it will cost more money. For example, “Ibis White” costs an additional $300 above the standard price. But with such a wide variety of options to choose from, there’s sure to be a color that fits your needs and budget!
Starting at $43,500
The Audi A5 Sportback is a great car and perfect for luxury events or long drives. Its starting price of $43,500 makes it a great value for the money. You get a lot of features and options with this car. The only downside is that it might not be as comfortable for rear-seat passengers because of its hatchback design.
The interior design on the A5 Sportback isn’t quite as luxurious as some of Audi’s other models, but you still get a lot for your money. The Premium trim starts at $43,500 and comes with a number of features, such as LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen display, and more. If you want something even more luxurious, the Premium Plus trim starts at $48,400 and offers even more features like leather upholstery and heated front seats. Finally, if you want the top-of-the-line model, the Prestige trim starts at over 60 thousand dollars–but it’s definitely worth it!

Where This Vehicle Ranks
The Audi A5 is a great car that TrueCar has ranked #4 in its midsize luxury cars category. The base trim of the A5 is priced at 29 combined miles per gallon, with another five mpg for each model sold above that level. This vehicle excels in interior and exterior space, but most importantly safety features such as the all-wheel-drive option.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The Audi A5 Sportback’s sleek and stylish interior is one of its main selling points. The roofline is particularly attractive, although it does come at the cost of rear-seat passenger space. However, most people would agree that the trade-off is worth it. The Sportback comes equipped with all the luxury necessities: power-operated seats, a large infotainment screen, heated seats, and more.
One of the best features of the Sportback is its cargo hold. It has a range of powerful engines and an impressive fuel economy score, making it practical for carpools or those who need to carry more than just a few items at once. Plus, the power-operated liftgate makes it easy to get things in and out.
Audi has a unique and comprehensive car testing process that we believe provides numbers from every angle so you can make an informed decision about which car is right for you. Our goal is to provide you with the biggest picture possible so you can make an informed decision about your next vehicle purchase.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
When it comes to Audi, you have a few different options: the Sportback, S5 coupe, or the all-new A5. The Sportback is the most affordable option and starts at $42,000. If you’re looking for something a little more luxurious, then you can go with the S5 coupe which starts at $50,000. However, our favorite is the new A5 which starts at $44,000 and comes with some amazing features like Audi’s virtual cockpit gauge display. The Premium Plus starts at $50,000, while the Prestige is a whopping $56,000.
The Premium Plus has Audi’s virtual cockpit gauge display, which we find to be worth the extra cost. This 3-inch Virtual Cockpit digital gauge display replaces traditional gauges with high-resolution images that are customizable by drivers according to their needs on any given day–for instance, choosing an economy view for long-distance drives or sport mode when driving aggressively. We found this feature to be really helpful and worth paying a bit extra for; in addition, it gives your car that luxurious feel that makes you feel good about driving it!
The infotainment screen can be controlled by a click-wheel mounted on the console between the driver and front-seat passenger. Audi’s infotainment system is better than that of the other brands tested. It offers standard CarPlay/Android Auto integration, with options for navigation and free internet access.
Another thing to consider when buying a car is depreciation. A new car will lose value as soon as you drive it off the lot, while a used car will depreciate at a slower rate. The next step is determining if you need repairs done on your car; if not, then the fourth step would be caring for your care properly with regular maintenance and upkeep like oil changes, tire rotations, and washer fluid refills
Infotainment and Connectivity
Audi has always been a frontrunner when it comes to technology, and its infotainment system is no exception. The Audi MMI infotainment system is easy to use and comes standard with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto integration on all models of the A5 Sportback.
Audi Connect Prime and Audi Connect Plus are optional features that give you access to a suite of internet and vehicle-connectivity features, while the infotainment system’s 10.1-inch touchscreen lets you control all of them. The infotainment system is fully customizable, so you can tailor it to your needs, and comes standard with a 10-speaker audio system. However, the 12.3-inch customizable digital gauge cluster is worth the stretch for those who opt for Premium Plus trims, as it features a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system option instead of the standard 10-speaker package.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
Fuel economy is an important factor to consider when purchasing a new car. The Audi A5 Sportback is estimated to get 34 mpg on the highway and 26 in the city, according to the EPA. That’s not bad, but it’s not as good as some of its competitors.
The Toyota GR Supra, Audi A5, and BMW 4 Series are the top three most fuel-efficient cars of 2022. All three have a 20-horsepower engine with a 4-cylinder turbo engine.
However, when you look at “real world” MPG–which isn’t always reflective of EPA ratings–the Ford Focus Titanium handily beats out all three of those cars. A 2017 Ford Focus Titanium gets between 23-33 miles per gallon around town, which is considered pretty good for a car this size and age.
Compare 2022 Audi A5 Hybrid Trims
The Audi A5 is available in three different trims: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. The most affordable option is the Premium trim, while the most expensive option is the Prestige trim. The Premium Plus has more features than the Prestige, but it costs less.
The S-line trims offer more performance and luxury for a higher price tag. There are two different S-line trims: Sport and Luxury. They both have more features than the regular trims and come with a higher price tag as well.
The Audi A5 comes with an all-wheel-drive system that costs more than the rear-wheel-drive found in other competitors. It also has an 8L inline-4 engine which is cheaper than the 1.6L turbocharged four found in the Giulia and S4. Lastly, it offers seven speeds while others offer six or eight-speed systems at similar price points.
Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
When it comes to Audi, their warranty and maintenance coverage fall in the middle of the pack. They have a 4.6 rating on KBB.com and Consumer Reports (4 stars). Audi offers a four-year/50,000 miles powertrain warranty and no complimentary scheduled maintenance. Kia Stinger offers 10 years or 100,000 miles for their powertrain policy and free scheduled maintenance for life. Cadillac CT5 is similar to Audi A5 but is newer by 2 years. The 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has an engine with 201 horsepower. The 50000-mile warranty on the 2019 Ford Shelby GT500 starts after four years or 60 000 miles, while the basic warranty lasts for four years or five million miles. Mazda CX-9 is a four-wheel-drive SUV with an estimated 0 liter of fuel capacity that also varies depending on the engine type and configuration, including Drivetrain, AWD/RWD/FWD, and RWD/AWD.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
The Audi A5 Sportback is a five-door coupe that comes with a wide range of driver-assistance features. You’ll find the crash test results on both the NHTSA and IIHS websites. The A5 has standard automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.
The Audi A5 Sportback earned a five-star overall crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) with five stars given in side-impact and rollover tests, and four stars in frontal crash performance. The Audi A5 is rated by the NHTSA but not yet rated by them for safety features as of this writing.
The A5 has a Top Safety Pick rating and is given top marks for its roof strength and front overlap by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The only downside is that it only has the bare minimum of standard driver assistance features. To get more advanced safety features such as blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping assist, you need to move up to the Premium Plus trim level.
Overall Safety Rating (NHTSA)
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is an organization in the United States that rates vehicles for their safety. The NHTSA assigns a five-star rating to the safest cars on the road and a one-star rating to the least safe.
Audi has always been known for its high level of safety, and all of its models score very highly with the NHTSA. In fact, Audi was one of only three automakers to receive the top safety award from the agency in 2018.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The engine and transmission are two important aspects of a car. The Audi A5 Sportback offers two different engine options: a 40 or 45 model. Both models are turbocharged four-cylinder powertrains. In addition, all-wheel drive is standard for all A5 Sportbacks. This makes the car great for those who want an SUV feel, but don’t want to sacrifice the performance of a sports car.
The last generation Audi A5 Sportback managed a 5.0 second zero to 60 mph time at our test track, so we expect the 45 variants to be similarly quick as well (but it has not yet been tested). The Audi S4 is also available as a high-performance vehicle with upgraded features that make it perfect for those who love speed and precision in their driving experience. The transmission for the Audi S4 includes a manual or an automatic option, depending on preference.
